Goodbye, Farewell, And Amen

Jim Brown is considered the greatest running back of all time, yet he played only nine seasons.
I say 'only' because his incredible durability (he never missed a game) would have allowed him to play five or six more seasons- and all successfully. Instead, Jim pulled the plug at the apex of his career, going out on top and more importantly- on his terms.

I like Jim Brown.

So, now that I've got the sports reference out of the way, I suppose, for one last time, I should stick to the RadioFree m.o. and quote myself a movie-

"The biggest trick the Devil ever pulled was in convincing the world that he didn't exist. And like that… he was gone."

Thank you all very much.

Adieu, adieu, to you and you and you...

This is NOT GOOD--NOT GOOD at all! Now I'll have to change my whole 5:00 A.M. routine--which started with 'Radio,' went to 'weather.com,' on to 'Dilbert,' then 'Day by Day,' and ended with 'DUDGE.' Will someone please tell me... where in the hell am I going to find a new 'thinking guys' blog? In fact, I'm tempted to shout 'kiss my a**,' but I'll not allow such temptation to overtake me. So, in the words of a once famous and long dead radio shock-jock, 'Good Night and Good Luck.'

Oh Dear Lord! Now I'll have to get a life!

Not Self-Actualizing

Jeeezz! That's no fun.

So that's the upcoming changes you mentioned for the ranch??????

You said "Thank you all very much." I say--"thank you--it was a clever and insightful place to visit and to rest a spell."

well, you know what they say...all good things must last, Last, LAST!!!

I wish you'd stay, but I respect that you must go...

Look, Jim Brown retired too early and is now a bitter old man who contemplated a come back at 50 and now has resigned himself to bit parts in movies like Mars Attacks. Going out on top is one thing, but going out on top when you just reached the top is, well, something you will regret. I suggest you make this a quasi-retirement and much like the zillions of KISS and Celene (sp) farewell tours, you come back and "blog" at big events, ala, Tom Brokaw (sp). Think it over Jimmy boy.

Oh, c'mon guys...Jim Brown's life was football. 'The Kirk's' life is a hell-of-a-lot more than a blog. A VERY good blog, mind you, but a blog just the same.

BassMan

ps: I'm AM sorta' looking forward to 'The Kirk's' Streisandesque never-ending farewell tour. As for Bab's herself, I wish she would pull the plug and zip her pie hole.

Shhh. I DON'T exist.

Lucifer

so....when are you coming back?

...look, we know you are dying to blog, i mean come on, one of nasa's best goes completely postal...you are only going to hurt yourself trying to keep these things bottled up.

Dammit, I don't think he's coming back.

Kermit

Now I'm beginning to worry that he's really not coming back--but I'm not giving up.

you still have people coming by....
you need to come back.
we're bored....we need kirkopolis.
